Artist Statement
Nature fascinates me with its interplay of light, creating various patterns and textures, offering a sense of wonder and mystery. Attracted to the intimate imagery displayed in nature, I challenge myself to have my art display the world that often goes unnoticed everyday, everywhere.
Bio
I grew up in Portage, Wisconsin, the daughter of a nurse and an art teacher. Art has always fascinated me. As a child, I remember sitting and looking through Art History books, amazed at what I saw.
I attended the University of Wisconsin—Whitewater, majoring in Finance. Ten years later, I returned to the university and received another major in Computer End-user Technology. I have held positions as an Insurance Agent, Insurance Underwriter, Ad Designer, Web Designer, and Interaction/User Experience Designer. Some of my photos can be viewed as a backdrop on my web design business site, www.WebGeekDesigns.com.
Wisconsin has been home for all but five years of my life. I currently reside near Milwaukee with my husband, 2 kids, cat and dog.
When I am not spending time with my family or in front of my computer, you can find me taking photos, reading, quilting or making jewelry. I have also dabbled in other art forms including drawing, painting, scrapbooking, macramé, painting sculptures, sewing clothing, making scented soaps and salts, and numerous other projects. I have been "playing" around with digital imaging both personally and professionally since 1989 and designing professional web sites since 1999.
Photoshop is the main program I use, along with a few other programs. I enjoy creating unique works of art that help people enjoy the wonderment of nature and life.
